'Secret and Distant Freaks' in the Medieval Irish and Viking Worlds

Appalachian State University issued the following press release:

Dr. Amy Eichhorn-Mulligan of the University of Memphis will speak at Appalachian State University Tuesday, March 17. Her talk, "'Secret and Distant Freaks' in the Medieval Irish and Viking Worlds," will begin at 6 p.m. in room 004 of Old Library Classroom Building.

The lecture is free and the public is invited. Sponsors are Appalachian's Department of History in conjunction with Eastern Carolina University and Longwood University.

Eichhorn-Mulligan is the author of "Sovereignty's Body: The Anatomy of Power and the Miracle of Kingship in Irish Literature" published by Speculum in October 2006. She is an associate professor in the Department of English at the University of Memphis, located in Tennessee.
